Life experience and current statistics show that many youth in economically disadvantaged and single parent homes often lack full support in many social areas. These lacking areas are necessary to be successful in school and develop effective cognitive skills that will be especially useful later on in life. As a result, many students become "at-risk" youths by dropping out of school, getting involved in risky behavior, questionable activities and making poor decisions. These troubled youth are then faced with dealing with the consequences of their actions when it all could have been avoided with attention and care. HIT wants to change the statistics and show that regardless of the situations our youth face, they can be world changers and history makers. Many future leaders, inventors, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs and more need just a few extra doses of encouragement and direction to help them bloom into their full potential.
